Job summary

Labourforce advertises for an experienced Heavy Industrial Maintenance Fitter to join the Blacktown area team on the morning shift. You will maintain and repair heavy machinery, diagnose faults, and perform planned and reactive maintenance with a focus on hydraulics and pneumatics.

The role requires a recognised Fitter qualification, welding skills (MIG/STICK), and the ability to work Saturdays, with a competitive rate of $50 per hour plus overtime. Safety and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Australian Recognised Trade Qualifications as a Fitter (mechanical) required.
• Experience with heavy mobile & fixed plant maintenance incl. loaders, excavators, crushers, screens, shredders, mills & conveyors.
• Welding experience: MIG and STICK.
• Hydraulics and Pneumatics is a MUST.

Responsibilities

• Test, inspect and diagnose faults; perform planned and reactive maintenance across the area.
• Install and repair equipment linked to hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Promote safety and close out safety issues in the workplace.
• Improve equipment reliability and perform field service work.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Industrial Maintenance Fitters to join their MORNING SHIFT growing team in the Blacktown Area. As a vital member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our heavy industrial machinery and equipment.

Position Brief below

• Permanent Full time position
• Mon - Fri 5AM - 3:30PM & Saturday 6AM - 12PM
• Hourly rate $50 Per hour + Overtime
• Company Uniforms provided
• ASAP start for Successful applicants
• Must be able to work Saturdays

Duties:

Responsible for prompt action and close out of safety issues affecting the workplace; test, inspect and diagnose plant and equipment faults; perform planned maintenance, reactive breakdown maintenance and shutdown work across area; install and repair equipment associated with hydraulic and pneumatic systems; work towards improving equipment reliability and field service work.

Skills and Abilities Required For this position :

• Proven experience in managing maintenance related work within the trade discipline.
• Sound understanding of safe working practices and their application in a maintenance service work environment.
• Analytical and problem solving skills, the capacity to prioritize work and maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines and KPI's
• Familiarization of Australian Standards, Codes of Practice and legislation pertaining to property maintenance / facilities management industry.
• Demonstrated capacity to understand and interpret operating specifications, plans and plant and equipment servicing standards.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and have a help out when required attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to consult, problem solve and dispute resolution.
• Excellent time management skills and possess the ability to coordinate multiple tasks in deadline driven, fast paced environment.

To be considered for this role, applicants will possess the following:

• Australian Recognised Trade Qualifications as a Fitter (mechanical) required
• Previous experience working on heavy mobile and fixed plant maintenance including loaders, excavators, crushers, Screens, Shredders ,mills and conveyor systems.
• Mining experience desirable but not essential
• experience with MIG ,& STICK welding
• Experience with Hydraulics and Pneumatics a MUST
• Current Forklift License, Elevated Work Platform Ticket would be an advantage but not essential
• Able to read technical drawings
• Experience with moving ,replacing and fitting Motors
• Have the ability to work overtime and weekends
• Be dedicated to safe working practices
• Be able to commence ASAP!!!!
• Have own reliable transportation
• Have all required PPE safety equipment
• Ability to work in a team environment
