At our Head Office location at Burton and take on a heavy haulage role where your work keeps our major projectsmoving. You’ll be trusted with oversized and essential loads that require realskill, focus, and responsibility on every trip. This is a hands‑on driving role where safety and precisionmatter, backed by a team that gets the job done right.

About the Role

As a Heavy Haulage Driver with Big Chief Hire, you will be beresponsible for the safe and efficient transport of trucks, plant machinery,and a range of oversized equipment across South Australia. You will play a keyrole in ensuring freight is delivered on time all whilst ensuring compliancewith NHVR regulations and Chain of Responsibility (COR) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely load, unload, andtransport heavy machinery and oversized freight, including earthmovingequipment
• Operate in fullcompliance with NHVR Heavy Vehicle National Law and Chain ofResponsibility obligations at all times
• Conduct thorough dailypre-start checks and ensure vehicles and equipment are roadworthy
• Manage fatigue inaccordance with fatigue management regulations and company policy
• Secure loads correctlyusing approved restraint methods and procedures
• Maintain accuraterecords and complete required documentation as required
• Work safely across metroAdelaide and regional South Australian locations

About You

• Current HC or MC licencewith a minimum of 3-4 years’ heavy vehicle driving experience
• Shift and load ticket orVOC
• Proven experience inheavy haulage, including loading and unloading plant and machinery
• Low loader experience(highly regarded)
• Strong understanding ofNHVR regulations and Chain of Responsibility requirements
• Ability to pass apre-employment medical and hold a current Fit to Drive assessment
• Strong safety focus witha clean and reliable driving history
• Confident workingindependently and making safe operational decisions
• Ability to perform inhigh-pressure and demanding environments
• Familiarity withAdelaide Metro and regional South Australia (desirable)
