Job summary

Whitmore Bus Group, a long-standing family-owned transport provider in Central Victoria, is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our Castlemaine workshop. You will work on planned maintenance, repairs, and breakdowns to keep a fleet of 45+ vehicles safe and reliable.

The role requires a Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent). You should be able to work in a fast-paced team, be safety-focused, and willing to roster shifts including after

Qualifications

• Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent Trade Qualification) is required.
• Experience repairing heavy commercial vehicle fleets is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with planned maintenance programs and repairs to keep fleet safe and reliable.
• Diagnosing issues and test driving vehicles to confirm fixes.
• Enter, inspect and rectify defects in vehicles and systems.
• Render assistance with on-road breakdowns as needed.

Due to business growth, we have an opportunity for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our team in our modern, Castlemaine workshop.

From planned servicing to breakdowns and major component rebuilds, our workshop team relish in variety of meaningful work, to keep each day exciting.

This includes:

• Assisting with planned maintenance programs and repairs to ensure our fleet is safe and reliable
• Diagnosing issues and test driving of vehicles
• Enter, inspect and rectify any defects
• Render assistance with on road breakdowns

What are we looking for?

• Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent Trade Qualification)
• Heavy Vehicle Experience in providing repairs to a heavy commercial fleet
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Safety focused
• Attention to detail
• Experience working with VMS programs and diagnostic systems would be desirable
• Willingness to work a variety of rostered weekday shifts and after hours on-call to a rotating roster
