Job summary

Dyers Distribution in Morwell seeks an experienced Heavy Vehicle Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of utes, trucks, trailers and materials handling equipment. You will diagnose faults, perform inline maintenance, and ensure records are accurate and up to date.

Applicants must hold an Australian Trade Qualification in Mechanical (Heavy or Light) or be willing to upskill, with flexibility for after hours call-outs and a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics and repairs on heavy vehicles (utes, trucks, trailers, equipment).
• Conduct in-house mechanical works to keep vehicles in top condition.
• Prioritise tasks and diagnose issues efficiently.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used and labour hours.
• Collaborate with team to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality workmanship.

We currently have a vacancy for experienced mechanic based in our Morwell workshop to maintain and repair our company owned fleet of utes, trucks, trailers and materials handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of heavy vehicles, including utes, trucks, trailers and specialized equipment.

Conduct in house mechanical works to ensure all vehicles are in top working condition.

Ability to diagnose and prioritise tasks.

Maintain detailed records of all repairs, parts used, and labour hours to ensure accurate maintenance and service history.

Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and provide assistance when needed.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Requirements:

Australian Trade Qualification – Mechanical (Heavy or Light or willingness to upskill).

Ability to work overtime during peak periods.

Flexibility for rotating after hours call out roster.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

A current driver's licence.

HC or MC licence or willingness to obtain.

A 3rd or 4th year Heavy Commercial Vehicle Apprentice will also be considered.
