Job summary

Thiess is seeking a Field Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our Maintenance Team on a 14/7 roster in a mining camp. You will service, repair and maintain mobile fleets (CAT, Hitachi, Epiroc) to Thiess standards, perform breakdowns and component changes, and source OEM information as required.

You should have a Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter trade qualification with at least 2 years' post-trade mining experience, and be committed to health and safety.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years post trade experience in mining or Heavy Earth Moving environments.
• Experience in servicing, repair and maintenance of CAT/Hitachi equipment.
• Desirable exposure to vehicle air conditioning systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, repair and maintenance of mobile fleet (e.g., CAT 6060, Hitachi 1900/2500, D10, D65) in line with Thiess procedures.
• Complete general maintenance, breakdowns, services and component change outs to a high standard.
• Source technical information from reference manuals, OEM bulletins and cab/system documentation.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and conduct pre-start checks.
• Work on a 14/7 roster with 12-hour shifts in a mining camp environment.
