AECOM’s Energy practice seeks a Principal Primary Engineer to lead high-voltage primary and substation design projects in Australia. You will mentor a team, ensure quality and compliance, and drive delivery from initiation to completion across technical and design workstreams.

You will apply TransGrid/Powerlink standards, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and liaise with clients to meet project requirements while advancing infrastructure capabilities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with TransGrid/Powerlink substation design standards.
• Experience leading primary & substation design projects.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage equipment and protection interfaces.

Responsabilités

• Lead development and review of primary system designs (layouts, equipment, earthing, busbar).
• Act as SME for substation primary engineering within project teams.
• Ensure technical verification to AECOM standards and processes.
• Coordinate with protection, control, civil, and secondary engineers.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Interface with clients, stakeholders and regulatory bodies as trusted advisor.
