Job summary

Western NSW Local Health District seeks a Health Services Operational Manager to unite administration, health information, clinics, food services and campus operations into a single directorate. Reporting to the General Manager and guiding up to nine direct reports, you will establish governance, drive standards and ensure resilient service delivery across Bathurst Health Service.

The organisation

Western NSW Local Health District provides public health services to, regional, rural and remote communities across a significant geographic area. Its network includes hospitals, multipurpose services and community-based health services. Bathurst Health Service provides a broad range of acute, subacute and community services to Bathurst and surrounding communities. With continued service transformation and redevelopment underway, the organisation is strengthening its leadership structure and operational capability to support sustainable, high-quality care.

The opportunity

The Health Services Operational Manager is a newly established executive position responsible for bringing together a broad portfolio of enabling and operational services as a cohesive directorate. Reporting to the General Manager and leading up to nine direct reports, the Health Services Operational Manager will:

• Lead administration, health information, specialist clinics, food services and after-hours campus operations.
• Establish the new directorate, strengthening accountability, collaboration and service standards.
• Oversee business continuity, emergency preparedness and responses to operational or infrastructure disruptions.
• Resolve operational challenges and improve coordination across clinical, corporate and support services.

About you

You will bring:

• Senior operational leadership experience within a complex public or private health service.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and integrating services through change.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing and problem-solving capability.
• Experience in business continuity, emergency preparedness or operational incident response.
• A visible, collaborative leadership style focused on practical delivery and improvement.
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with relevant postgraduate qualifications, OR extensive senior health service management experience with relevant tertiary qualifications.
