Job description

DT Infrastructure is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join our team delivering the Smoky Creek Solar Farm.

Operating on a 2:1 FIFO roster from Brisbane, with full camp accommodation provided, you’ll work closely with our project leadership, supervisors, workforce and subcontractors to support safe delivery across the project.

This is a hands‑on site role where you’ll spend time in the field conducting inspections and observations, supporting high‑risk construction activities, coaching frontline leaders and helping our teams identify and manage risk. You’ll also support incident investigations, SWMS reviews, audits, reporting and the implementation of our HSE management systems and improvement initiatives.

With civil, piling and mechanical installation activities forming part of the works, it’s a great opportunity to broaden your experience on a major renewable energy project while making a genuine impact on safety culture and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide practical H&S advice, coaching and support to project teams, supervisors, contractors and subcontractors
  • Conduct site inspections, task observations and audits across construction activities, identifying hazards and supporting corrective actions
  • Review SWMS, risk assessments and high‑risk planned works to ensure appropriate controls and compliance are in place
  • Lead and participate in incident and near‑miss investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions
  • Support pre‑starts, toolbox talks, inductions and HSE training while promoting strong safety engagement across the workforce
  • Monitor HSE performance, maintain safety documentation and contribute to project reporting, risk registers and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
  • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or equivalent, with approximately 2-5 years' experience in an H&S Advisor or similar role
  • Construction industry experience with a strong understanding of WHS legislation, contractor management and compliance requirements
  • ICAM Basic Investigator qualification and experience conducting incident investigations, audits and workplace inspections
  • Practical experience implementing H&S management systems, risk assessments, SWMS and operational safety controls
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the confidence to engage effectively with frontline workers, supervisors and project leadership
  • Construction White Card and unrestricted C Class driver's licence, with renewable energy, piling or mechanical construction exposure advantageous
Why work for DTI
  • Competitive pay that reflects your contribution: We reward performance and impact, with our remuneration benchmarked to market.
  • Purpose-driven careers in infrastructure: As we grow our presence in the renewable energy sector, DTI is also continuing to cement its position as a delivery partner of choice across rail, roads and Defence infrastructure projects. Our teams benefit from the variety of opportunities, applying their skills and experience across multiple sectors.
  • Fostering your development: We’ve developed a culture where continuous learning is front and centre of everything we do. Fostering the growth and development of our people is key to our success and ensuring that we are preparing the next generation of leaders is a core focus for our business.
  • Parental leave designed for the reality of family life: Our industry leading parental leave policies are centred on flexibility to support modern family life, because at DTI, little families are a part of our one big family.
  • Flexibility that works for you and for us: We acknowledge that everyone’s needs are different in striking the right work‑life integration. Whether it’s hybrid working, adjusted hours, job sharing or balancing family commitments, we’ll work together to make it work.

DT Infrastructure is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace that champions opportunity and respect. Our focus on inclusivity is active and ongoing. Women, people of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island descent and former members of the Australian Defence Force are encouraged to apply.
