Job summary

NSW Health at Westmead Hospital is seeking a Health Information Release Officer to manage the end-to-end processing of Release of Information requests, ensuring sensitive clinical data is reviewed, tracked and disclosed appropriately. You will work within the Health Information & Records Service to support accuracy and confidentiality.

You will apply NSW Health privacy requirements, coordinate with healthcare professionals and other authorised parties, and maintain records in the HPRM system to

Qualifications

• Understanding of patient confidentiality and Release of Information policies.
• Knowledge of health record processes and privacy legislation.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage time and prioritise workload.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end Release of Information (ROI) requests from courts, lawyers, insurers and authorised parties.
• Review and extract information from clinical, electronic and paper records with confidentiality in mind.
• Apply NSW Health privacy legislation and policies when processing requests.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, monitor deadlines, maintain records in HPRM and meet targets.
• Support across Western Sydney Local Health District sites as required.
