Job summary

Shangri-La Hotels in The Rocks, Sydney, seeks a friendly Health Club Attendant to welcome guests, explain facilities and keep the club pristine. You will conduct fitness tests, upsell personal training, run circuit sessions, and assist with tours.

The role requires at least 1 year in health or hospitality, a motivation to excel, knowledge of OH&S, and CPR/First Aid is a plus. A minimum 24 hours per week commitment is expected, with duties including reservations and towel logistics to support

Qualifications

• Hospitality or fitness qualifications preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in health or hospitality industries.
• Motivated self-starter with good communication.
• Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety workplace practices.
• CPR and First Aid certificates are advantageous.
• Must be able to commit to minimum 24 hours a week.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and members within Health Club Facilities.
• Explain facilities to guests and orient them.
• Conduct complimentary fitness tests for all members.
• Upsell personal training sessions to members for extra fee.
• Lead a circuit fitness group session and keep it fun.
• Convert leads to members (ratio 1 in 3).
• Provide fitness guidance to existing members.
• Offer Health Club Tours to hotel guests.
• Perform general cleaning of locker rooms, wet areas, gym, and poolside.
• Handle towels and organize Laundry deliveries.
• Take reservations for services, lessons and activities.
• Create a safe and welcoming atmosphere in the Health Club.
• Assist the Director of Spa and Wellness to gain corporate memberships.
