Qualifications

• Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position.
• Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
• Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
• Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
• Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and work effectively with another Head Teacher TAS and teaching staff to build professional capacity and foster a cohesive culture of high expectations and excellence in teaching and learning.
• Lead the implementation, evaluation and improvement of curriculum and assessment to improve outcomes across TAS courses.
• Drive school improvement through the Strategic Excellence Plan, with emphasis on Literacy and Writing strategy.
• Manage specialist TAS facilities, equipment and resources, and lead safe workshop practices that support quality teaching and learning.
