Job summary

Woods & Co Recruitment is partnering with a global organisation to appoint a Head of Technology & Digital for Australia. You will own the flagship e‑commerce platform and drive the delivery of technology that supports it, balancing hands‑on leadership with strategic product decisions.

You will lead a small full stack development team across onsite and offshore locations, ensuring platform reliability and effective integrations while leveraging AI to streamline workflows.

Qualifications

• Hands-on e‑commerce platform ownership or delivery experience.
• Strong full stack software development background.
• Experience leading agile teams including offshore resources.
• Ability to communicate complex tech to non‑technical audiences.
• Experience applying AI or automation to improve workflows.
• Background in marketing, supply chain or agency environments is valued.

Responsibilities

• Own the flagship e‑commerce platform, web shops and connected builds as products - including roadmap, priorities and delivery.
• Make clear calls on what gets built, improved or stopped based on business value.
• Lead a small full stack development team across onsite and offshore locations.
• Ensure platform reliability, performance and integration with other systems.
• Act as the technical lead in client integration conversations and tender pitches.
• Build practical dashboards and reporting used by Sales and Operations.
• Introduce practical AI and automation that improves workflows and saves time.
• Own governance covering security, integrations, vendor management and system stability.
• Partner with Sales, Operations and Client teams to deliver practical solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement with a fast, iterative and pragmatic mindset.

Woods & Co Recruitment are proud to be partnering with the Australian arm of a global organisation to appoint a Head of Technology & Digital. Reporting to the Australian Country Lead and sitting on the leadership team, this role takes ownership of the business’s e-commerce platforms and the delivery of the technology that supports them. We’re looking to speak with hands‑on technology leaders with e-commerce platform experience who enjoy being close to product and delivery. This role will suit someone with strong full stack foundations who can balance practical execution with clear decision‑making across digital products, integrations and workflow automation. Experience in marketing, supply chain or agency environments would be highly regarded.

What we’re looking for:

• Hands‑on e‑commerce platform experience - owning or delivering online ordering, web shop or marketplace environments
• A strong background in full stack software development
• Experience leading agile development teams that include offshore resources
• Hands‑on technical leadership with the ability to stay close to delivery
• A strong understanding of modern web technologies, scalable platforms and integrations
• Working knowledge of technology governance covering security and vendor management
• The ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences - client or tender-facing experience is highly regarded
• Practical experience applying AI or automation to improve workflows
• A background in marketing, supply chain or agency environments is highly regarded
