Job summary

Lutheran Education Australia Ltd seeks a Dean of Teaching and Learning to provide strategic leadership across curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment for a thriving independent Christian school community in Western Australia.

The role includes leading whole-school improvement, mentoring Heads of Learning Areas, and aligning teaching practices with data-driven student achievement goals. Teaching allocation up to 0.4 FTE within a vibrant secondary environment.

Qualifications

• Master of Education or Master of Educational Leadership required.
• Current Teacher Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
• Proven success in educational leadership within a secondary school.
• Strong expertise in curriculum, assessment, pedagogy, and academic improvement.
• Experience leading staff and leadership teams.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse and act on student achievement data.
• Outstanding communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills.
• A personal Christian faith and willingness to support the Christian ethos.

Responsibilities

• Lead curriculum planning, implementation, review, and innovation.
• Oversee assessment, reporting, moderation, and academic compliance.
• Lead professional learning and instructional coaching.
• Analyse academic data to drive student achievement and improvement.
• Develop Heads of Learning Areas and support teaching staff.
• Oversee NAPLAN, OLNA, WACE, ATAR, and SCSA compliance requirements.
• Develop intervention and extension programs to support all learners.
