Job summary

Windsor High School in Hawkesbury Valley invites applications for a new permanent Head Teacher Teaching and Learning. The role leads Learning and Support Teachers, SLSOs and EAL/D staff, overseeing IFS and RAM Equity funding, staff deployment and resource management to maximise outcomes for identified students.

The successful candidate will use student data and evidence-based practices to identify learning needs, drive targeted literacy and numeracy interventions, and lead professional learning

Qualifications

• Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
• Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
• Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
• Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
• Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and develop Learning and Support Teachers, SLSOs and EAL/D staff, including strategic allocation of IFS and RAM Equity funding, staff deployment and resource management to maximise outcomes for identified students.
• Demonstrated expertise in using student data and evidence-based practices to identify learning needs and implement targeted literacy and numeracy interventions.
• Lead professional learning and build staff capability through coaching, mentoring and collaborative practice, and align teaching and learning initiatives with the school’s strategic directions, including HPGE, Aboriginal education and Year 6–7 transition programs.
• Expert knowledge of compliance requirements of curriculum, including development of processes to ensure whole school is adherent.
