Job summary

CAE in Homebush, NSW, seeks a Manager, Systems & Software to lead a multi-disciplinary team delivering complex defence and simulation programs across the Asia Pacific region. The role reports to the Senior Manager Engineering - IPAC and covers planning, execution, and delivery of software and hardware activities while meeting quality, schedule and cost objectives.

You will oversee about 16 engineers, influence capability development, and align regional delivery with CAE’s global engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Previous leadership experience managing or leading technical teams.
• Experience within software engineering, hardware engineering or complex systems development environments.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and people leadership skills.
• Experience managing resources, delivery schedules, budgets and risk.
• Ability to work effectively within complex engineering and project environments.
• Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
• Ability to work from our Homebush, NSW site.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of software and hardware engineers.
• Plan, monitor and oversee software and hardware activities across projects, services and bids.
• Ensure engineering solutions align with system architecture, engineering standards and quality requirements.
• Partner with engineering, project and business stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.
• Manage delivery risks, team performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support alignment with CAE’s global engineering organisation and engineering best practices.
