Job summary

Optus is seeking an AD, Service & Topology Engineering in Australia to lead enterprise service topology and dependency capability. You will own strategy, standards and models for accuracy across service assurance, Operational Intelligence, AI and automation.

You will collaborate across Network Operations, OSS, Operational Data and Architecture to deliver end-to-end service visibility, faster root cause analysis and accurate customer and business impact assessment.

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership experience across telecoms and large-scale tech environments.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale service modelling and topology work.
• Strong knowledge of service topology, inventory relationships, and dependency modelling.
• Understanding of network architectures and topology in analytics, AI and automation.
• Ability to define capability strategy, standards and measurable outcomes.
• Ability to lead cross-domain teams and influence senior stakeholders.
• Commercial, financial and vendor management capability.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve cross-domain service and topology engineering strategy and capability roadmap across Network Operations.
• Lead the engineering and lifecycle management of enterprise service topology models across network, cloud, application and service domains.
• Establish reusable patterns for service inventory relationships, dynamic topology synchronisation and customer service mapping.
• Lead the engineering of cross-domain dependency models linking customer services, network resources, platforms and applications.
• Develop and govern service impact and failure-propagation models for accurate impact assessment and root cause analysis.
• Establish and govern topology accuracy, relationship integrity, metadata and engineering standards aligned with EA, security and data governance.
• Drive service and topology capabilities from engineering through validation into production with clear ownership and metrics.
• Influence senior stakeholders on model priorities, topology standards and investment decisions with partners.
• Build and lead a high-performing service and topology engineering capability, developing people via coaching.
