Job description

H&D Automotive sells 4x4 performance parts and spares globally from our warehouse in Darra, Brisbane. Most of our customers drive LandCruisers, Patrols and Hilux's, and plenty of them want more power or more reliability out of a 1HD-FTE, 1HZ or TD42. They buy from our web store, over the phone and at the counter. Workshops and dealers buy from us on trade accounts.

About the role

We're hiring a Head of Sales to run and grow our sales operations.

We are an emerging and rapidly growing organisation, (often seeing 45-80% YoY annual growth) with a team of 22 staff.

Every time we grow, a department suffers. Up until recently, it was dispatch and warehouse , now that's sorted, it's our sales department.

Sales (nor the people in it) are the issue. It's the resources to tend to the volume with adequate service, managing replies to emails, picking up the phone, completing quotations, stuff like that.

A successful applicant is not above the day to day tasks above, but resource management and hiring will be included in this role. If you find yourself getting tied up in day to day tasks, success looks like filling that with a new staff member, for example. This role entitles you to seek that out if required.

We are a tech heavy business, with in house tech developers that can build key software to cater to increasing demand. Implementation of improved systems, updates to processes can and do happen same day. What we need, is someone to lead the team, set the standard and stay on top of it.

Key responsibilities

Set targets for each salesperson, track them weekly, and coach whoever's behind

Delegate the team so phones, counter and online enquiries are covered 8am to 5pm

Win new trade accounts with Brisbane workshops and fitters, and grow the ones we have

Take the escalated quotes, complaints and warranty claims

Work with dispatch and our Head of Operations so orders go out right the first time

Set pricing and promos with the Director, and pass on what customers keep asking for that we don't stock

Report each week on sales, margin and open quotes

About you

3+ years selling automotive parts. 4x4 or diesel performance is a big plus

You've led a sales team before, or you're the senior salesperson everyone already goes to and you're ready to run it

Enough mechanical knowledge to talk fitment with a workshop owner without bluffing

Comfortable in a CRM, an inventory system and an online store

Good with numbers.

A current driver licence and full working rights in Australia
