Job summary

Beyond Bank in Australia is seeking a Head of Member Credit Assessment to lead the strategic direction, governance and performance of our credit assessment function across consumer and business lending. You will work with stakeholders to influence lending strategy, improve policies and processes, and develop team capability while delivering strong member outcomes and prudent risk management.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience in credit risk and lending within regulated financial services.
• Deep expertise across consumer and business lending and credit assessment.
• Strong knowledge of FAR obligations and executive governance.
• Proven ability to influence strategy, policy and decisioning frameworks.
• Extensive knowledge of NCCP, APRA standards and AML/CTF obligations.
• Proven track record leading complex credit functions with balance between risk and growth.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead credit assessment across consumer and business lending with high-quality decisions.
• Support accountable executive under FAR with governance, controls, oversight and escalation.
• Drive end-to-end lending lifecycle improvements in policy and processes.
• Shape credit governance, delegation frameworks and controls to ensure compliance.
• Partner with Risk, Distribution, Operations, Product and Technology to drive strategic initiatives.
• Provide leadership on complex lending matters and risk management.
• Develop and inspire a high-performing team with coaching and succession planning.
• Utilise portfolio analytics and market insights to identify emerging risks and optimise outcomes.
• Monitor regulatory changes to keep practices contemporary and competitive.
• Champion automation and data-driven decision support to improve turnaround times.
