Job summary

Mercy Health in Melbourne is seeking a Director, Medical Workforce Unit to lead and oversee all medical workforce management across junior and senior medical staff at two major acute campuses, with regional NSW support.

You’ll drive workforce planning, credentialing, rostering and budgeting, ensure compliance with industrial instruments, and build trusted relationships with senior clinicians and executives to deliver patient‑centred care.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of a complex workforce function.
• Strong judgement and communication in clinical settings.
• Experience with medical employment frameworks and industrial instruments.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership of the Medical Workforce Unit across two campuses.
• Lead end-to-end medical workforce operations for Doctors in Training and Senior Medical Staff.
• Drive workforce planning, modelling, accreditation and training pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with industrial agreements, regulatory requirements and credentialing standards.
• Oversee rostering, leave planning and cost management.
