Job summary

Southern River College (SRC) in Western Australia invites applications for Head of Department (Mathematics). This 12-month fixed-term, full-time appointment commences Term 1, 2027 and offers an instructional leadership role guiding teaching and curriculum delivery across Years 7–12 to improve student outcomes.

The successful applicant will collaborate with the leadership team to build staff capability, lead assessment and reporting, and align with Explicit Instruction and Visible Learning

Qualifications

• Experience leading a Mathematics department or large teaching team.
• Ability to teach across Year 7–12 and ATAR level.
• Strong data analysis to monitor student progress.
• Commitment to Visible Learning and Explicit Instruction (EI).
• Ability to develop staff capacity and drive school improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational leadership and build staff capacity.
• Collaborate with the school leadership team to improve student outcomes.
• Support best practice and lead ATAR-level teaching across Years 7–12.
• Lead with Explicit Instruction (EI) and differentiate curriculum delivery.
• Apply Visible Learning principles to classroom practice.
