Job summary

Macquarie University Library is seeking a Manager, Collection Services to lead the team delivering equitable, timely access to prescribed and learning resources. You will oversee procurement, interlibrary loans, unit readings, accessibility services, and open educational resources, aligning with the Waranara Library’s strategic plan.

You will translate library strategy into prioritised plans, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes, reporting to the Director, Resources and Discovery.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience managing high-performing teams.
• Extensive experience designing workflows and implementing continuous improvement in interlibrary loans, procurement, accessibility services and unit readings management.
• Experience with integrated library systems and specialist technologies for interlibrary loans and unit readings (Alma, Leganto, Rapido, RapidILL).
• Experience developing and managing stakeholder and partner relationships.
• High-level knowledge of copyright, licensing and intellectual property for resource acquisitions and interlibrary loans.
• Ability to develop and implement service delivery plans and analyse complex information.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Collections Services team to deliver equitable, timely access to prescribed and learning resources.
• Provide strong people leadership through coaching, performance development, and workforce planning.
• Ensure end-to-end delivery of interlibrary loans, resource sharing, unit readings, accessibility services, and procurement.
• Partner with academics and professional staff to understand needs, manage expectations and improve staff and student experience.
• Drive continuous improvement using data and feedback, reporting on standards, KPIs, and turnaround times.
• Maintain fit-for-purpose procedures and documentation to support consistent service delivery.
• Ensure compliance and risk management across the portfolio, including copyright, licensing, privacy and WHS.
• Manage vendor and licence relationships to ensure value and continuity of service.
