Job summary

Cadence Connect is partnering with a high-growth ASX-listed Australian business to lead a senior security leadership role. You will oversee a team across Australia and offshore, reporting to the COO and presenting security initiatives to the board Risk Committee.

The role focuses ~70% on security, with an established strategy to refine and deliver. It involves collaborating with engineering, product and marketing to enable the business and manage risk in a growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Senior security leadership experience required (CISO/Deputy CISO or equivalent).
• Experience securing in-house software development and AI tooling.
• Background in organisations with large volumes of customer data.
• Solid grounding in IT infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments.

Cadence Connect has partnered with a high-growth, ASX-listed Australian business that has expanded strongly, both organically and through acquisition. It looks after personal information for a very large customer base, builds its own customer platforms in-house and is moving quickly to adopt AI across the business.

About the role

This senior leadership role brings together cyber security and IT, with around 70% of the focus on security. Reporting to the COO, you will lead a team of around 20 across Australia and offshore, and present security initiatives to the board Risk Committee. An established strategy is already in place, so the opportunity is to refine and deliver it rather than start from scratch.

Duties

• Lead security operations, compliance, IT infrastructure and the modern workplace
• Partner with engineering to embed security into software development and AI tools
• Drive the ISO 27001 program and Essential Eight uplift
• Manage internal teams alongside specialist external security partners
• Own the IT and security budget and report to the board Risk Committee

Skills & experience

• Senior security leadership, such as a CISO, Deputy CISO or equivalent role
• Experience securing in-house software development and AI tooling
• Background in an organisation holding large volumes of customer data
• Solid grounding in IT infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments
• Relationship-led leadership that balances pace with sound risk judgement
