Job summary

The Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney seeks a Senior Manager, Conference Events to lead the Eucharist28 conference program and related components. You will manage the appointed Professional Conference Organiser and drive operational readiness across venues, registration, talent, technology and pilgrim services for a global event expected to engage tens of thousands of pilgrims.

Qualifications

• Significant experience planning major conferences, conventions or large events.
• Experience managing Professional Conference Organisers, contractors, venues, suppliers.
• Strong multi-workstream project management with budgets and procurement.
• Knowledge of venue operations, registration, participant services and event tech.
• Understanding of crowd management, security, emergency and risk.
• Ability to collaborate with Church stakeholders, government agencies and partners.
• Calm leadership, negotiation skills and decisive under pressure.
• Tertiary qualifications; NSW Working with Children Check preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Eucharist28 conference program delivery, including thematic components.
• Oversee Professional Conference Organiser and venues, contractors, suppliers.
• Manage integrated project plans, budgets, procurement and readiness.
• Provide operational leadership across venues, registration and pilgrim services.
• Ensure risk, WHS, safeguarding and compliance are addressed and escalated.
• Coordinate with Church, government and partner organisations during delivery.
