Job summary

Archdiocese of Sydney is seeking a Senior Manager, Conference Events to lead Eucharist28’s conference program, including Theological Symposium, Core Conference Program, Schools Program and Youth Festival. You will coordinate the Professional Conference Organiser, venues, contractors and suppliers to deliver a safe, engaging program for tens of thousands of pilgrims.

Qualifications

• Significant experience planning and delivering major conferences, conventions, congresses or large-scale events.
• Experience managing Professional Conference Organisers, event delivery contractors, venues and specialist suppliers.
• Strong project management across multiple workstreams, budgets, procurement, contracts and supplier performance.
• Sound knowledge of venue operations, registration, participant services, operational readiness and event technology platforms.
• Demonstrated understanding of crowd management, security, emergency management and event risk requirements.
• Proven ability to work effectively with Church stakeholders, government agencies, emergency services and commercial partners.
• Calm and credible leadership, with sound judgement and negotiation skills.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and NSW Working with Children Check and alignment with Catholic Church ethos.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Eucharist28’s conference program, including Theological Symposium, Core Conference Program, Schools Program and Youth Festival.
• Oversee the Professional Conference Organiser, venues, contractors and specialist suppliers.
• Manage budgets, procurement, risk, operational readiness and post‑event evaluation.
• Provide operational leadership across the event program with venues, agencies and partners.
• Ensure compliance, safety and issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
