Job summary

ExecThread in Melbourne is seeking a Head of Finance Operations to lead the finance operations function across payroll, AP/AR, banking, fixed assets and finance systems as part of a major transformation and growth program.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and a track record in operational finance leadership. CA/CPA qualifications are preferred and coaching and mentoring teams will be a key focus.

This senior leadership role is not limited to traditional shared services or transactional finance; it encompasses the oversight of finance operations across various domains, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, fixed assets, and finance systems. The successful candidate will be instrumental in a major finance transformation program, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and driving process redesign. Key responsibilities include leading the finance operations function, driving operational excellence, and ensuring high-quality service delivery and stakeholder engagement. The role also involves close partnership with key stakeholders across the organization and a strong focus on leadership, capability development, and operational improvement. Candidates for this role should have a background in operational finance leadership and transformation, with extensive experience in leading finance operations, shared services, or transactional finance functions. Exposure to finance transformation, systems implementations, or large-scale process improvement programs is essential. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a customer-centric approach. A track record of coaching, developing, and mentoring teams is required, and CA/CPA qualifications are preferred.
