Job summary

ELMO Software Pty Ltd is seeking a Head of Design to lead the product design discipline across Sydney & Melbourne squads. You will own usability, WCAG AA accessibility, and the ELMO design system, guiding a team of designers in an AI-native, product-led environment.

You will shape multi-modal experiences, maintain brand alignment, and partner with Engineering to ensure high-quality design-to-code and AI generation accuracy across the product suite.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership across cross-functional squads.
• Hands-on senior design capability on complex AI features.
• Strong knowledge of AI-native design, multi-modal interfaces, and design tooling.
• Deep knowledge of UX research frameworks and accessibility (WCAG AA).
• Experience with platform-scale design systems and design-to-code pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Direct line-management of five designers; set career pathways and hiring standards.
• Own usability and WCAG AA sign-off before releases.
• Establish rules for multi-modal AI design and seamless hand-offs between modalities.
• Own the design system and partner with Engineering to ensure design-to-code and AI generation accuracy.
• Manage design budgets, headcount, and tool strategy while aligning with Product and Engineering.
