Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College in Bentleigh, Victoria, invites applications for a Head of Department – Mathematics (POL 2) commencing Term 1, 2027. The role requires the ability to teach VCE and to lead the Mathematics department with a collegial, team-based approach.

The successful candidate will be committed to Catholic education, safety and wellbeing of students, and will hold VIT registration or be eligible with the right to work in Australia.

Qualifications

• The ability to teach VCE is essential.
• Commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
• Ability to work collegially within a team-based teaching and learning approach.
• Must be appropriately qualified and demonstrate enthusiasm to develop Mathematics expertise.
• Must hold Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration or be eligible and have right to work in Australia.

Responsabilités

• Provide leadership in the Mathematics department and support teaching and learning for students of varying abilities.
• Engage in team-based curriculum development and delivery for Mathematics across year levels.

In addition, the successful candidate will be willing and able to provide care and support for students whilst supporting and respecting the ethos of the College and its environment.
