Job summary

St Rita's College is seeking an accomplished music educator to lead and develop the Cocurricular Music Program across Years 5–12. You will provide strategic direction, artistic leadership and mentor a team of staff, tutors and conductors to foster musical excellence and inclusion.

The role involves overseeing instrumental, choral and musical theatre pathways, concerts, festivals and the College Musical, while building strong relationships with families and external organisations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent meeting Queensland registration requirements.
• Proven experience leading or coordinating a school music program or similar.
• Advanced musical expertise, including ensemble leadership, conducting and performance direction.
• Strong knowledge of instrumental and choral music education and contemporary teaching practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop staff and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Cocurricular Music Program's strategic development and delivery across instrumental, choral and musical theatre pathways.
• Provide artistic and educational leadership through high-quality conducting, teaching and performance practice.
• Lead, mentor and develop music staff to build a high-performing, collaborative team.
• Oversee concerts, festivals, tours, competitions and the College Musical.
• Build strong relationships with students, families, staff and external music organisations.
• Manage program operations, resources and budgets to support sustainable growth and continuous improvement.
