Job summary

Murrumba State Secondary College is seeking a passionate instructional leader for the role of Head of Department - The Arts. The faculty includes dance, music, drama, visual art and media arts, with Excellence programs in Dance Academy and High Performing Music.

The role requires leading curriculum, monitoring student progress, and developing industry-linked opportunities within a vibrant Arts culture across the college. This is a temporary full-time position ending 25 March 2027.

Responsibilities

• Lead curriculum, teaching and learning of the faculty to deliver quality learning outcomes for all students
• Track and monitor student academic progress across year levels
• Set high standards for student and staff performance
• Ensure compliance of internal VET documents for qualifications on our scope and build staff capability in this area
• Form partnerships with students, parents, external providers and the wider college community
• Provide strategic leadership to build a vibrant Arts culture across the college with performances, events and industry opportunities
