Job summary

Murrumba State Secondary College in Brisbane's northern suburbs is seeking a dynamic Head of Department - The Arts to lead curriculum, teaching and learning and drive high standards across the faculty.

The role includes monitoring student progress, wellbeing and engagement, ensuring VET compliance, and building partnerships with families, external providers and industry to showcase creative talents through performances, events and opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead curriculum, teaching and learning of the faculty to deliver quality learning outcomes for all students
• Track and monitor student academic progress in all year levels
• Set high standards for student and staff performance
• Ensure compliance of internal VET documents for the qualifications on our scope, including building staff capability in this space
• Form partnerships with students, parents, external providers and the wider college community
• Provide strategic leadership in building a vibrant Arts culture across the college, developing programmes that celebrate student talent and provide meaningful engagement in the Creative Industries through performances, events, eisteddfods, showcases and authentic industry-related opportunities
