Job summary

Manly Yacht Club is seeking a self-motivated sailor to coach junior sailors and lead the Racing Development Program. You will run coaching sessions on Saturdays and Sundays, manage instructors and volunteers, and advance the program into the next season.

Role involves administration to align goals with participants, parents, and club members, fostering long-term engagement. The position is 16 hours per week across a 20-week season, with 60 AUD per hour plus superannuation.

Qualifications

• Australian Sailing Coaching Certificate required.
• Minimum of 5 years coaching experience with a strong background in dinghy racing.
• Current Working with Children Check.
• Boat License.
• Availability to work Saturdays and Sundays from mid-October to May (approx. 12:30–4:30pm) and to assist with course setup and administration.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate a fun and positive learning environment.
• Deliver the coaching program on Saturdays and Sundays.
• Manage the instructor team and volunteer roster.
• Coordinate program administration and communications with parents and participants.
• Oversee racing schedule and events (races, briefings, coaching).
• Allocate club boats to sailors and manage equipment.
