Job summary

Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, are partnering with a well-established Port Adelaide restaurant to recruit a skilled Chef. The role leads the kitchen team, oversees food preparation, and helps develop seasonal menus in a fast-paced Italian kitchen.

The position is full-time, with weekday and weekend shifts, offering $80k–$90k plus super. Strong leadership, cost control and HACCP knowledge are essential for delivering outstanding dining experiences in Port Adelaide SA.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary cookery qualifications to at least Diploma level.
• At least three years' professional kitchen experience.
• Availability across weekdays and weekends.
• Ability to prioritise, set goals and take responsibility for achieving them.
• Sound understanding of food safety and HACCP requirements.
• Understanding of cost-efficient procurement and time management.
• Proven ability to lead and support a kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support the kitchen team to deliver high-quality results.
• Assist with onboarding and training of cooks and kitchen staff.
• Oversee preparation, cooking and presentation across all kitchen sections.
• Manage daily kitchen operations: stock control, ordering, waste management and cost control.
• Develop, test, cost and introduce seasonal menu items and daily specials in consultation with management.
• Maintain OH&S, food safety and HACCP standards.
• Collaborate with management to ensure efficient operations and high standards of food and service.
