Job summary

Pacific Hotel in Yeppoon is seeking a hands-on Head Chef to lead the kitchen, drive quality and profitability, and mentor a high-performing team. You will create memorable pub-style dishes that resonate with locals while maintaining high standards.

Collaborate with the Publican and FOH team to ensure seamless service, manage stock, safety, and cost control, and lead shifts with energy and pride each day.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Head Chef with proven kitchen leadership.
• Trade cooking qualifications and food safety certifications required.
• Pub/kitchen operations experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily kitchen operations, ensuring quality, safety and profitability.
• Collaborate with Publican and FOH to align service.
• Mentor and develop kitchen staff for high performance.

We're searching for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen at the Pacific Hotel - the beating heart of our local community and the place where pub classics meet plates locals can't get enough of.

Located in the heart of Yeppoon, the Pacific Hotel is a favourite of locals and those passing through!

A day in the life of a Head Chef:

• Command the kitchen like it's your own, keeping it running smooth, safe, and profitable
• Be a key part of the leadership crew, working closely with the Publican and FOH team
• Share your passion, skills, and creativity to grow a high-performing kitchen team
• Keep the connection between the kitchen and front of house flowing with good vibes and great food every shift

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

• You've got trade cooking qualifications and food safety certifications sorted
