Job summary

Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort & Sunshine Coast Convention Centre on the Sunshine Coast is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our main kitchen and play a pivotal role in our culinary operation. You’ll oversee day-to-day kitchen management, develop your team and uphold high standards across food quality, presentation and service.

Qualifications

• We’re looking for someone with proven Head Chef, Sous Chef or senior kitchen leadership experience.
• Strong culinary qualifications and technical skills.
• Experience in hotel, resort, events or high-volume kitchen environments.
• Strong leadership with a passion for developing people.
• Excellent knowledge of food safety, HACCP and WHS requirements.
• Commercial awareness with experience managing food costs and kitchen resources.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Hands-on, positive and solutions-focused approach.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead the main kitchen operation across preparation, production and service.
• Oversee food quality, presentation and consistency across all services.
• Lead, coach and develop the culinary team and foster a positive kitchen culture.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage leadership team.
• Support delivery of conferences, weddings, functions and large-scale events.
• Contribute to menu development and bring creativity to guest experiences.
• Manage food costs, ordering, stock control and kitchen resources.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, WHS and Accor standards.
• Collaborate across the resort to ensure a seamless culinary experience.
