Job summary

The Sporting Globe, Ringwood, is opening its first Victoria venue and seeks a Head Chef to lead Varsity Ringwood. You will build and mentor a BOH team, set standards from day one, and drive a busy, high-quality service in a new venue.

You’ll train with WA teams before opening, ensure food safety and consistent recipes, and work with leadership to deliver the Sporting Globe experience in Melbourne.

Qualifications

• Head Chef experience leading a kitchen team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in high-volume restaurants, pubs or similar venues.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Solid knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance.
• Ability to manage stock, labour and kitchen performance.
• Hands-on leadership style with hands-on involvement on the line.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead and develop the BOH crew.
• Deliver meals in line with Varsity's standards.
• Maintain quality and speed during busy services.
• Follow national recipes and plating guides.
• Manage kitchen operations, prep and service.
• Drive food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards.
• Oversee stock, ordering, deliveries and wastage.
• Maintain kitchen compliance and reporting.
• Collaborate with Venue Manager and leadership team.
• Bring energy, accountability and a Good Times attitude to the kitchen.
• Contribute to a successful opening of Varsity Ringwood.
