Job summary

Cater Care is seeking a Head Chef to lead the kitchen at our contract site in Hera NSW. You will drive culinary excellence, manage a high-volume operation, and mentor a diverse kitchen team. The role focuses on quality, safety, and morale, with a FIFO/DIDO roster supporting work–life balance.

The role requires a Trade Qualified Chef with proven Head Chef experience, and knowledge of remote/bulk catering is valued. Enjoy a career with progression in a 100% Australian-owned catering provider.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified chef with proven Head Chef experience or ready to lead as a senior Sous Chef.
• Experience in remote, FIFO/DIDO, bulk catering, or large-scale hospitality operations is highly regarded.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills with a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

The Role

As our Head Chef, you won't just be cooking—you will be the driving force behind the site's culinary success and morale. Your responsibilities will include:

• Team Leadership: Mentoring, motivating, and managing a diverse kitchen crew to deliver exceptional food services.

• Culinary Excellence: Overseeing high-volume food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistent quality and comfort.

• Operational Control: Managing kitchen budgets, stock control, and ordering with autonomy.

• Safety & Compliance: Championing strict food safety, hygiene, and OH&S standards to foster a collaborative and safe environment.

About You

• Qualified & Experienced: You are a Trade Qualified Chef with proven experience as a Head Chef (or you are a superstar Sous Chef ready to take the reins).

• Industry Knowledge: Experience in remote, FIFO/DIDO ,bulk catering, or large-scale hospitality operations is highly regarded.

• Natural Leader: You have strong people skills and know how to build and maintain a positive team culture.

• Organized: You possess excellent time management skills and an unwavering commitment to quality and safety.
