Job summary

Thompson Health Care in Beecroft, NSW, seeks an experienced Head Chef for Cheltenham House (75-bed luxury aged care). Full-time role from 06:30 to 14:36, Monday to Friday, leading kitchen operations and delivering nutritious, appealing meals for residents.

Answering to a supported care team, you will manage ordering, stock, and costs while maintaining high food safety standards and HACCP knowledge. Police check required.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years experience as a Chef (desirable)
• Has previous experience as a Chef in aged care (desirable)
• Strong leadership and hospitality management skills
• Police Check (National Police Certificate) (Essential)
• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (Essential)
• Current Food Safety certification with HACCP knowledge (desirable)
• Organised, reliable, and committed to high cleanliness standards
• Infection control knowledge and exceptional customer service

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the kitchen team
• Plan, prepare, and deliver nutritious, seasonal meals tailored to residents’ needs
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
• Collaborate with clinical and care teams to meet dietary requirements
• Oversee ordering, stock control, and cost management within budget
• Assist in food preparation and serving of meals
• Maintain excellent customer service and communication with staff
