Job summary

Opal HealthCare is seeking a passionate Head Chef to lead our hospitality team at Sandringham Grove Care Community in Melbourne’s bayside south-east. You will deliver nutritious, high-quality meals while managing kitchen operations and mentoring staff.

Develop seasonal menus, meet resident dietary needs, and drive food safety, compliance and cost management, while building strong relationships with residents and families.

Qualifications

• Experience leading kitchen teams in hospitality or aged care.
• Ability to plan nutritious, resident-focused menus.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and WHS compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the catering team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals meeting resident preferences and dietary requirements.
• Create seasonal menus and contribute to engaging resident dining experiences.
• Coach staff through mentoring and on-the-job training.
• Ensure food safety, infection control and workplace safety compliance.
• Manage ordering, stock control and catering budgets to minimise waste.
• Build relationships with residents and families to understand dining preferences.
• Drive continuous improvement across hospitality services and resident satisfaction.
