Job summary

The Baths Middle Brighton is seeking a qualified Head Chef to lead our upstairs restaurant and event kitchen in Brighton, Victoria. You will oversee menu development, staff training, and high-volume service while ensuring exceptional quality for seasonal menus and private dining events.

Qualifications

• Past experience in fast-paced, high-volume kitchens.
• Previous experience with exclusive functions or private dining is preferred but not essential.
• At least 8 years' experience in high-quality establishments, serving seasonal menus.

• Ensure consistent, high-quality food with seasonal menus.
• Lead and train kitchen staff to maintain safety and efficiency.
• manage food cost and hygiene standards across all outlets.

The Baths Middle Brighton is a multi-faceted facility (Downstairs Cafe, Upstairs Restaurant & Event Space, Kiosk and Health Club) located in Brighton with beachfront bay and city views.
Downstairs at The Baths offers waterfront casual dining.

Upstairs at The Baths presents a unique restaurant & event space where we host an array of celebrations with a capacity of 120 seated and 200 cocktail style, the versatile venue can also host smaller functions for group dining.

We are looking for a qualified, passionate and professional person to take on the Full-Time role of Head Chef.

About the Role:

Qualifications & experience

Past experience in fast-paced, high-volume kitchens

Previous experience with exclusive functions or private dining is preferred but not essential

At least 8 years' experience in high-quality establishments, serving seasonal menus

Tasks & responsibilities

Encourage a positive learning and supportive team culture with a high degree of professionalism

Excellent food hygiene and occupational Health & Safety standards

Work well within a team. You will be involved in all aspects of the kitchen

A quick-thinking ability to be able to perform numerous tasks in a fast-paced environment.
