Job summary

Pilecom, a specialist mechanical installer for utility-scale solar farms, seeks a Heavy Diesel Vehicle Mechanic to maintain our fleet at the Maddington workshop and across Australia. This hands-on, hybrid role blends site-based work with Perth-based tasks on drill rigs, piling equipment and hydraulic systems.

You will be responsible for servicing engines, generators, and hydraulic circuits, with on-site breakdown support and a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and servicing engines, generators, drill rigs and hydraulic systems.
• Competent in locating manuals and data for servicing and schematics.
• Experience ensuring work is carried out with WHS guidelines and standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out services, scheduled maintenance and repairs to vehicles, plant & equipment.
• Maintain and repair drill rigs and piling equipment used on large-scale solar projects.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves and circuits.
• Respond to on-site breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime and fast fault resolution.
• Perform scheduled servicing across a mixed fleet (drill rigs, telehandlers, generators).
• Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical manuals for fault finding.
• Work closely with site teams to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
• Take ownership of field-based repairs in a fast-paced, high-production environment.

We are seeking a HD Fitter to help us maintain our fleet both out of our Maddington workshop and Australia wide. This is a hands-on, hybrid role with Perth and site-based work.

Key Accountabilities:

• Carry out services, scheduled maintenance and repairs to vehicles, plant & equipment.

• Respond to on-site breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime and fast fault resolution
• Perform scheduled servicing across a mixed fleet (drill rigs, telehandlers, generators)
• Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical manuals for fault finding
• Work closely with site teams to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently

• Will need to attend breakdowns across the whole fleet on site, thinking quick on the feet to get machines back in operation with minimal down time

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining & servicing some or all of the following:

• Engines and Generators
• Tele-handlers & Forklifts
• Drill Rigs
• Breakdowns on the above machines
• Hydraulics
• Competent in utilising computer skills to search manuals / data for servicing and schematics

Experience in the following is preferable but not essential:

• Hydraulic tool maintenance
• Piling Equipment maintenance
• Hand & power tool maintenance
• Electrical fault finding
• Welding

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Qual or Trade Certificate as a Heavy Diesel Vehicle Mechanic
• Construction Induction Card (White Card)
• Experience ensuring that all tasks are performed within WHS guidelines and standards.
• C Class Drivers License
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety-Risk Assessments, SWMS, JHA.
