Job summary

MPK is seeking an experienced Fitter to join our Wellcamp, QLD maintenance team. Monday to Friday roster with occasional weekends and on-site support as required.

The successful candidate will service, repair, and maintain a fleet of earthmoving machinery, trucks, trailers, and specialist equipment, including occasional smaller ad hoc jobs and loading/unloading of plant and freight.

Qualifications

• Heavy vehicle and earthmoving experience is essential.
• Strong understanding of scan and diagnostic tools for aftermarket and OEMs.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems and repairs.
• Welding and fabrication skills are valuable assets.
• Ability to manage, locate and order stock/spare parts.
• Ability to work unsupervised and take initiative in repairs.
• Creativity to work outside normal tasks on specialised equipment.

Responsibilities

• Service and repairs of all equipment in the fleet.
• Rebuilds and overhauls, especially on trenching and welding equipment (Vermeer, McElroy).
• Creation of new equipment, building, and assembly.
• Conducting daily prestart meetings and completing JHAs as required.
• Guiding and sharing information with the team.

About the Role:

MPK is seeking an experienced Fitter to join our local Maintenance Team located at Wellcamp, QLD. Reporting into the Infrastructure Plant Team, the ideal candidate for this position will be highly motivated and eager to work a Monday to Friday roster, with the opportunity to work occasional weekends and support the Team on site when required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks across our fleet of equipment, consisting of earthmoving machinery, trucks, trailers, specialised equipment, light vehicles as well as undertake the occasional smaller, ad hoc jobs. They will be able to assist with loading and unloading of plant and freight.

Day to day tasks willinvolve:

• Service and repairs of all equipment
• Rebuilds and overhauls, particularly on specialist trenching and welding equipment (Vermeer, McElroy)
• Creation of new equipment, building, and assembly
• Conducting daily prestart meetings & filling out of JHAs as required
• Guiding and sharing information with the team

Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

• Heavy vehicle and earthmoving experience (preferred)
