Zusammenfassung

ConsMin is seeking a qualified Heavy Duty Plant Mechanic for field maintenance at our Woodie Woodie operation in WA. You will diagnose, repair and service Caterpillar and Hitachi equipment in challenging mining environments, with a strong emphasis on safety and OEM standards.

Responsibilities include in-pit maintenance, breakdown response, and coordinating with Operations to minimise downtime. A current Police clearance and AC ticket are preferred, and a C class licence is required.

Qualifikationen

• Must hold Heavy Duty Plant Mechanic trade certificate.
• Must have a current National Police Clearance.
• C class driverlicense is required.
• Ability to interpret OEM manuals and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Knowledge of Caterpillar (6020B, D10T, 16M, 789C’s + D’s & 777G) and Hitachi (EX1200, EX3600).
• Air Conditioning Ticket is advantageous.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Respond to equipment breakdowns in pit and field environments, diagnose and repair safely.
• Carry out in-pit maintenance and breakdown support on a mobile fleet.
• Perform fault finding under operational conditions, often in high-pressure situations to minimise downtime.
• Execute repairs on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in the field.
• Conduct planned maintenance tasks in the field to support operational continuity.
• Liaise with Operations and Maintenance to prioritise breakdown response activities.
• Ensure all work is completed to OEM standards and site requirements, with accurate reporting of defects and repairs.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards in field work areas and ensure safe practices in dynamic mining conditions.
• Operate service vehicles and field equipment in accordance with site procedures.

Introduction

ConsMin produces some of the world’s highest grade manganese ore and is considered a world leader in manganese mining. Our ConsMin Australian operation (Woodie Woodie) is based in the WA Pilbara, 407kms south-east of Port Hedland. Enjoy a short two-hour flight direct to our well-equipped camp and mining operation - only a five minute drive from Woodie airport.

Description

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the successful applicants will be required to:

• Live the ConsMin Values through safe behaviours, compliance with site procedures, and adherence to life-saving rules.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns in the pit and field environments, ensuring safe and efficient fault diagnosis and repair.
• Carry out in-pit maintenance and breakdown support on a mobile fleet including Caterpillar and Komatsu equipment
• Perform fault finding under operational conditions, often in high-pressure situations to minimise downtime and production impact.
• Execute repairs on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in the field.
• Conduct planned maintenance tasks in the field where required to support operational continuity.
• Liaise closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to prioritise and coordinate breakdown response activities.
• Ensure all work is completed to OEM standards and site requirements, with accurate reporting of defects and repairs.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards in field work areas and ensure all work is conducted safely in dynamic mining conditions.
• Operate service vehicles and field equipment in accordance with site procedures.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Minimum C class drivers’ licence
• Current National Police Clearance (No older than 6 months)
• Heavy Duty Plant Mechanic Trade Certificate
• Ability to understand and interpret OEM manuals and hydraulic/ pneumatic
• Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Product knowledge of Caterpillar (6020B, D10T, 16M, 789C’s + D’s & 777G) and Hitachi (EX1200, EX3600)
