Job summary

Barron River Towing in Cairns regional area is seeking an experienced HC Semi Driver to join our team. You will handle loading and unloading machinery, operate a range of semi-trailers and heavy transport equipment, and work with safety and load restraint best practices.

The role is full-time with 40 hours per week and overtime when available. Most work is in the Cairns region with occasional runs to Townsville; you will be part of a local, experienced team that values reliability and

Qualifications

• Current HC manual licence.
• Proven experience driving semi-trailers.
• Experience loading and unloading machinery and containers.
• Ability to operate various trailer combinations.
• Strong load restraint and transport safety understanding.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload machinery safely and efficiently.
• Operate Tri-Semi Tilt, Drop Deck, Quad Low Loader and other trailers.
• Transport machinery and equipment to Cairns region and Townsville as needed.
• Ensure loads are secured and transported safely.
• Perform pre-start checks and maintain vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain professional standards and safety at all times.

Barron River Towing is seeking an experienced and reliable HC Semi Driver to join our team.

We are looking for a confident and capable driver who has experience with loading and unloading machinery and is comfortable operating a range of semi-trailers and heavy transport equipment.

About The Role

This is a full-time position with consistent work of 40 hours per week, with overtime available for those who want additional hours.

The majority of work will be throughout the Cairns region and surrounding areas, with the occasional trip to Townsville.

The Work Includes

• Loading and unloading machinery safely and efficiently

• Operating Tri-Semi Tilt trailers

• Operating Drop Deck trailers

• Operating Quad Low Loader & Dolly combinations

• Operating Super Tilt trailers

• Tipper work, including end tipper and side tipper

• Transporting machinery, equipment and other loads

• Ensuring loads are properly secured and transported safely

• Completing pre-start checks and maintaining vehicles and equipment

• Working safely and professionally at all times

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A current HC manual licence

• Proven experience driving semi-trailers

• Experience loading and unloading machinery & container/dongas

• Confidence operating different trailer combinations

• Experience with machinery transport and/or heavy haulage

• A strong understanding of load restraint and transport safety

• A reliable and professional attitude

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

• A good knowledge of the Cairns region and surrounding areas is an advantage
