Job summary

Woollahra Council is seeking a permanent full-time Parking Enforcement Officer to join the Regulatory team. You will patrol the Woollahra Municipality, provide information to customers and enforce parking and traffic rules.

The role requires a current Class C licence, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work outdoors. Training is provided; weekend and overtime penalties apply with a 14-day roster and 5 weeks annual leave.

Qualifications

• Current Class C drivers licence.
• Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and see tasks through to completion.
• Proven ability to handle difficult situations.
• Proven experience in and commitment to customer service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate calmly and effectively with a diverse range of people.
• Understanding of EEO and WH&S principles.
• Commitment to Woollahra Council’s values.
• Comprehensive relevant and practical experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of/experience in State or Local Government.
• Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable not essential).

Responsibilities

• Enforce time-limited parking in business centres and parking restrictions.
• Enforce stopping and parking contrary to notices and residential schemes.
• Manage parking for special events and school safety.
• Record and gather information for detected offences.
• Provide information to customers and build positive community relations.
