Job summary

Journey Beyond, Australia’s leading experiential tourism group, is seeking a Kitchenhand for Captain Cook Cruises, The Jackson, and the Starship Group on Sydney Harbour. You’ll work under the Chef to set up, stock, and operate a fast-paced galley across varied cruises, from corporate lunches to sunset functions.

No prior experience is required; we’ll teach you the ropes. There is a strong focus on hygiene, safety, and teamwork in a dynamic water-based environment.

Qualifications

• Safe Food Handling Certificate required (Essential).
• First Aid Certificate desirable.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock the kitchen before every cruise.
• Keep surfaces, stations and equipment clean and spotless.
• Wash up and reset stations to ensure continuous service.
• Assist with food prep and plating as needed.
• Receive and organise deliveries, rotate stock to avoid waste.
• Pack down and reset the vessel at cruise end for the next trip.
