Job summary

Andaz Gold Coast is seeking a hands-on Handyperson to join our Engineering team. You will assist with the upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces and back-of-house areas, handling maintenance requests and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for guests and colleagues.

You will bring practical skills in building and property maintenance, a proactive approach, and strong attention to detail. The role requires flexibility for shifts, including weekends, and ongoing safety and quality

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a handyperson, maintenance or facilities role.
• Practical skills across general building and property maintenance.
• A positive, can-do attitude and strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and time-management skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A commitment to safety and quality.
• Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends when required.
• Trade qualifications are valued but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete general repairs and maintenance across the hotel.
• Assist with painting, patching, carpentry, tiling and basic plumbing tasks.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests.
• Support preventative maintenance programs.
• Keep guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces in excellent condition.
• Work safely and follow all relevant procedures.
• Liaise with colleagues and contractors to resolve issues efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional work area.
