Job summary

Andaz Gold Coast is seeking a practical, reliable Handyperson to join our Engineering team. You’ll support the upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces and back-of-house areas, responding to maintenance requests and helping create a safe, comfortable environment for guests and colleagues.

You’ll complete general repairs, assist with painting, carpentry, tiling and basic plumbing, working across shifts as needed to keep the hotel in excellent condition and compliant with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a handyperson, maintenance or facilities role.
• Practical skills across general building and property maintenance.
• Commitment to safety and quality.

What you’ll do

• Complete general repairs and maintenance across the hotel
• Assist with painting, patching, carpentry, tiling and basic plumbing tasks
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests
• Support preventative maintenance programs
• Keep guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces in excellent condition
• Work safely and follow all relevant procedures
• Liaise with colleagues and contractors to resolve issues efficiently
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional work area

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a handyperson, maintenance or facilities role
• Practical skills across general building and property maintenance
• A positive, can-do attitude and strong attention to detail
• Good communication and time-management skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A commitment to safety and quality
• Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends when required
• Trade qualifications are valued but not essential
• Must already have ongoing and current working rights for Australia
