Job summary

The Ville Resort-Casino in Townsville is seeking a hands-on Handyperson to maintain rooms and public areas across The Ville, Ardo and Townsville Entertainment Convention Centre. You will work as part of a collaborative facilities team, delivering safe, well‑presented spaces for guests and staff.

Ideal candidates have strong maintenance experience, good communication and time‑management skills, and are able to work weekends on a rotating roster.

• Possess excellent property maintenance skills and competence in a variety of general trade duties.
• Commitment to safe working practices while carrying out the upkeep of hotel rooms and common areas.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to uphold positive working relationships.
• Well-groomed, self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain rooms and public areas across The Ville, Ardo and Townsville Entertainment Convention Centre.
• Perform general maintenance tasks to ensure safety and functionality of facilities.
• Coordinate with contractors and team members to complete repairs and upkeep.

The Role

You will be responsible for the general maintenance of rooms and public areas across our three properties The Ville Resort-Casino, Ardo and Townsville Entertainment Convention Centre.

About You

• Possess excellent property maintenance skills and competence in a variety of general trade duties. Whilst trade qualifications are not a mandatory requirement you will need to have strong experience in property maintenance.
• Commitment to safe working practices while carrying out the upkeep of hotel rooms and common areas of the property.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to uphold positive working relationships with fellow colleagues and external contractors.
• Well-groomed, self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Follow workinstructions demonstrating effective time management and organisational skills.
• Be physically fit for this active role, have a high attention to detail, including strong problem-solving abilities.
• Applicant must be available to work weekends and public holidays based on a rotating roster.
