Job summary

25hours HotelTheOlympia in Paddington, Sydney, is seeking a hands-on Handyperson to keep the hotel operating smoothly and safely. You’ll handle maintenance tasks, respond to guest requests, and support event setups to ensure an epic guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing, painting, HVAC, and general upkeep of hotel facilities.
• Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, and service areas are in excellent working order.
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
• Conduct regular inspections of hotel equipment, machinery, and systems to identify potential issues.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and materials, and request replacements as necessary.
• Assist with setup and breakdown for special events or room configurations.
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with each other to address urgent maintenance concerns.

Introducing 25hours HotelTheOlympia, which opened in the vibrant Sydney suburb of Paddington. Housed within the iconic West Olympia Theatre, the hotel features 109 rooms, multiple dining spaces including The Palomar restaurant, Jacob the Angel café, and Monica, the roof-top bar. As our Handyperson, you’re the go to fixer and all-round problem solver. The person we rely on to keep our hotel in tip top shape. From quick fixes to regular maintenance, you make sure everything is running smoothly so our guests enjoy a safe, seamless, and epic experience.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who brings both technical skill and creative spark …

• Previous experience working in hotels is preferred;
• You’re a hands on, proactive team player who’s reliable, punctual, and ready to pitch in;
• Experience in operating a variety of equipment, including small hand tools;
• Good written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to accommodate flexibility with shifts;
• Weekend and public holiday availability;
