Job summary

Hilton Melbourne Flinders Street is seeking a hands-on Handyperson to support the Maintenance Team in keeping the hotel well maintained and guest-focused. You will undertake repairs, painting, plumbing, and preventive tasks while ensuring safety and high service standards.

This role requires a proactive, flexible individual who can work autonomously, handle pressure, and manage a 7-day roster. The successful candidate will join a world-renowned hospitality brand with excellent staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hotel maintenance or hands-on facilities work is a plus.
• Strong customer service mindset and guest-first approach.
• Ability to follow safety policies and procedures in a hospitality setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks across hotel areas including repairs and upkeep.
• Carry out painting, plumbing and preventative maintenance as required.
• Respond to maintenance requests via logs/devices and close them out efficiently.
• Work with the maintenance team to ensure guest areas are well maintained.
• Adhere to Workplace Health & Safety and Fire Evacuation policies.

About DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne Flinders Street

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Melbourne - Flinders Street is conveniently located opposite the historic Flinders Street Station and is within walking distance of corporate offices, the famous Melbourne Laneways, and the South Bank precinct. What will I be doing?

As a Handyperson, you will work closely with the Maintenance Team to ensure the hotel is well maintained. Your role will include carrying out a variety of maintenance tasks such as repair work, painting, plumbing and preventative maintenance all while delivering high levels of customer service. Specifically, your duties include:

• Ensuring every area of the hotel is immaculately maintained for guests to enjoy


• Review and action maintenance requests that come through via hotel communication logs/devices and follow up on these to ensure efficient resolution


• Complete hotel general maintenance, repairs and preservations as required


• Adhere to hotel Workplace Health & Safety and Fire Evacuation policies and procedures


• Ensure good relationships are built with internal and external customers always maintaining a guest focus
